NOTE: it is the most widespread vine in the south of Piedmont thanks to its versatility and capability to adapt to different types of soil. Our oldest vineyard (more then 60 years!) is Dolcetto grape. Despite his name (it means “little sweet” literally) Dolcetto is a dry wine, while grape is very sweet and good to eat too. Even if most people prefer to drink it in 1-2 years, thanks to a good content of tannins, Dolcetto wine can be aged for 3-4 years, becoming smoother and elegant.
